A yogurt bowl makes breakfast fast with just a whisk.
I’m almost embarrassed to have the recipe for this spiced yogurt bowl here. It’s so simple and takes almost no time to prepare. It’s also a top option for healthy eating. We recommend sticking with whole-fat yogurt. Low-fat yogurt doesn’t have the right consistency, and the missing fat is made up for in sugars and thickening agents, (which doesn’t sound very healthy to us).
Mixing the yogurt with honey and mixed spice the night before allows the flavors to blend. It also gives the powdered spices a chance to soak up the liquid. If you don’t have a chance to prep overnight, though, no worries! Just do it first and let it rest while you pour your juice or coffee. It’s a quick, healthy breakfast for when you have to rush out the door and an effort-free cooling breakfast on hot summer days.
Easy to share and a good addition to a brunch menu!
The best part, in my opinion: there’s enough for guests even with this amount! It isn’t much more effort to double the recipe, either. Whether you host a brunch, feed volunteers before a busy day of friend-sourced home improvement, or (the best scenario, right?) the party lasted all night, this yogurt bowl will be a hit!
FYI, this recipe is also featured in the “Mixed Spice” chapter of our cookbook. (Shameless plug) We wrote our cookbook to answer the question, “What on Earth do I do with these seasoning blends?” We start each chapter with a recipe for a seasoning blend, then give you at least ten recipes to use it up. Clever, right?
